Outreaches
Desiard Street Outreach
Our church joined God in an outreach to the downtown Monroe homeless called the Desiard Street Outreach. This is an established outreach manned by several North Louisiana churches. On every fourth Saturday of a five Saturday month, we will prepare a simple meal and hand out clothing, toiletries, Bibles and tracts to those in need in the community.
Most of the people who come for the meal are women and children who live in the Salvation Army and Desiard Street Shelters. They are fed by Monroe churches during the week but no meals are provided on the weekends, so the meal we will fix will be their only chance for nourishment. This is a chance to meet the needs of those who are hurting and struggling and who need to hear of Jesus' love.
